I spent the summer in Maine with my mother creating this large tile mural! Individually painted with underglaze on-top of bisque tiles, then glazed and fired at Portland Pottery. 

Based on a Residency we did together at Spring Island, SC. We spent a week in the care of ornithologist and Executive director of the Spring Island Trust, Chris Marsh, exploring the island with spotting scopes, cameras and sketchbooks.

Spring Island was the first residency my mom and I have done together. It was an incredibly powerful experience and the first of many more to come!
